The Alkathon Lottery is quickly approaching and it is time to start discussing with your groups if you would like to participate. The lottery will happen at the September Intergroup General Meeting.
How the Lottery is run:
The Intergroup representatives must be present in person (not on zoom) in order to make their selection.
When you arrive to the meeting, there will be three baskets on a table (decorated for their respective holiday). There will also be paper for you to fill out with your meeting, name and contact information. If your meeting would like to participate in any of the Alkathons (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Eve) please place your information in each of the baskets. If your meeting only wants to participate in a specific holiday, only place your information in that specific basket.
When the lottery begins, it will start with selecting meetings for the Thanksgiving Alkathon. The first name drawn gets to select the meeting time they wish to host. We will continue this process until all meetings are filled for Thanksgiving. Then we will move onto Christmas, the same process will continue. If your meeting has already been selected to host a meeting for the Thanksgiving Alkathon, your ticket will be skipped and another one selected for a different meeting. This process will continue for New Year’s Eve. This process will ensure all meetings are able to host an Alkathon meeting and there are not multiple slots hosted by the same meeting. If there are open slots at the end of the lottery process, meetings will be able to make themselves available to host a second Alkathon meeting. The Intergroup representatives must be present in person (not on zoom) in order to make their selection. The Alkathons will be hosted in person only.
